Currently I am a
Newcombe Fellow
and finishing up my PhD in Philosophy at
Rice University.
My primary interests are Ethics, Social & Political Philosophy and Practical Reasons.
My dissertation,
Building Reasons, develops a pragmatic approach to all norm-guided practices:
ethics, political thought, epistemology, and practical reason.
I doubt there are any norms that have authority over us
irrespective of our involvement with practices that embody them.
What I propose, in contrast, is an interpretation of normative practices
that altogether dispenses with practice-external authoritative facts directing us what to do:
something we neither have nor need.
Additionally, I am interested in Logical Theory, Early Modern Philosophy, and Philosophy of Mind.
